Like most other people, I sometimes say stupid or inconsiderate things. As for Bacula development issues, when I am not to hot about a "good" idea, it is usually because I cannot figure out how to implement it correctly. I have run into a surprising number of cases, where I didn't like something because it either didn't fit with the Bacula design, it would totally disrupt the code, or I could see no way of implmenting it -- then a month, 6 months or a year later, suddenly an inspiration "arrives" and a good, simple solution is found and implemented. As Ulrich mentions, sometimes I just don't "get it". If you immediately give up and go away the matter usually terminates there. I am not implying this was your case as I don't remember your suggestions or how I responded to them.
