Interesting.  We have seen problems similar to what you describe, but
they have always been related to a bacula-dir.conf configuration that
is not supported by Bacula (Bacula does allow a certain number of
unsupported constructs) or related to bad configurations.  An example
of the former is directly addressing a Device in an autochanger from
the Director (this will cause the StorageId to be incorrect in some cases),
and example of the latter is mismatched MediaTypes for a Device.

We have no way to reproduce this, so there is currently no way we
can fix it.  If it is a real problem and it can be reproduced, then I would
recommend getting a Bacula Systems support contract, and our
support guys will work on it and *may* be able to tie it down sufficiently
that the programmers can find and fix the problem.
