Going through what I summarized in the Freshmeat announcements, I believe there are some performance improvements in: - - Volume pruning - - Backups, namely SQL inserts (batch inserts) and the use of posix_fadvise() in the FD - - restores (memory tree optimizations) - - SQLite3 performance (PRAGMA synchronous=OFF) New features seem to be: - - heartbeat for all connections (untested) - - improved volume reservation code (less conflicts in multi drive autochangers, ...) - - detection of file size/date change during backup (if enabled) - - 'Recycle Pool' feature - - pruned volumes are reusable immediately Those are just copy/pastes from the Freshmeat summaries, there might be others.
