i rty to avoid this as long as possible: i don't feel (yet) like running 
SD in ptrace for an entire month to see something in the end.

i was thinking along these lines too.
but then the event happens at indetermined times (at least for me:-)), 
so it shouldn't be related to a cron-job (there are no cron-entries 
regarding bacula that i would have found; nor do the exact time when 
such an event occurs relate to anything found in the cron-settings)

logrotate is in operation and it is running a monthly rotation  which 
does not correspond to the tracebacks.
