The short answer is - Yes. You can do it without a problem. But I do not
understand what is not working in your case. So I cannot help you.

I think - No. The "bextract" utility does not support plugin backups and is
not intended for it.

If you enabled tape drive compression then it is the best to disable
fileset compression. You can enable communication line compression which
should not impact on performance (lz4).
