my first thought was to reply, " i'm talking about how did this get to be this
way" but the only accurate answer to that is "the way stuff always does."
i am looking for a bit more elucidation than that.
so:
I. talking about farsi to arabic and arabic to farsi translation.
A. "may" is subjunctive.
1.. "you may have desert"--which inherently contains authority in the
speaker.
2. it "may" rain tomorrow--which asserts a subjectively perceived
likelihood.
B. "are never translated" simple present passive, with the always/never,
creating a no start/end point, except that it is bound by the constraint of
"while."
II. my understanding of such concepts is that they are
A. doctrinal.
1. the infallible Guardian stated that;
2. the Master intrepreted Text such that;
3. the infallible Guardian wrote that Baha'ullah said;
4. the House infallibly decided that someone's translation of Text is
sufficient to the exigencies of this time.
B. contingent on the exigencies of the day
1. The House infallibly stated tat for now;
C. stuff just happens, and then people impute "unwarranted authority" to the
events.
1. dogma
2. cultural surround
III. thus, i am asking
in reference to your adverbial clause "while Persian writings may be
translated into
Arabic, Arabic writings are never translated into Persian."
A. is it IA1 or IA2 ??
B. if IA1, Whose Authority?
C. given the start/end points issue other than the obvious "for the length of
the Dispensation" which the Iqan tells me is often a workable frame for
always/never/eternity etc... and the points expressed in II
1. when did this begin?
2. which of the items in II is the basis?
