The Baha'i Studies Listserv What about his social policies? Is it the gov't doing it or allowing it to happen? If the gov't does it it's an authoritarian policy, but if it only allows something to happen like say in a country where dueling to the death is legal, it's not the gov't being authoritarian. If the gov't says parents can be strict with their kids, it's not. But if it was madated it is.
