2? Who told you auto gear scooters have 2 gears. We are not talking the Bajaj Spirit (2 gears) or the Saffire (3 gears) here. We are talking pure variomatics. They don't have 2 or 3 or 4 or even 5 gears. Compared to your motorcycle, they have mechanically infinite ratios! How? They have a rubber belt being pulled over two conical pulleys that allow the belt to slide to meet the ratio requirements at that point of time. > > Especially in a > pillion + incline / hump > Unless you talking serious incline for a long distance. Just bumpy roads and humps are significantly easier to navigate (in heavy traffic) with a vario! Talking of experience of riding both the Wave and the Pulsar in really heavy traffic and non existent roads around BVK Iyengar Road, SP Road, Chikpet, Killari road etc...in the last week! > Better brakes on bike *more* than compensate for the extra weight. If you Spoke of braking experiences earlier! Ofcourse I remember scary braking on the Sunny and also riding a Chetak that fishtails with pleasure! These cannot be taken as examples for modern variomats that are so common nowadays!
