Another possibility-
A little water has got into the carb' and is resting at the bottom of the
bowl. As long as the motor is idling the fuel is fed by the idle jet which
is mounted higher, when the throttle is opened the main jet sucks in water
(which is at the bottom) and the engine dies.
Solution is to drain the carb using the drain screw.
This had happened to me when I got my wife's Kinetic pressure washed.
