Hi, Did this amazing 9 day ride, mostly on dirt tracks
Here are the pics (from Zenosh's camera) http://picasaweb.google.com/zenosh/20090102CentralIndiaAniversaryRide and GPS tracks from Smit are here http://www.gpsed.com/user/smitz thankfully no issues - not even a puncture. did have BIM for the day 6 stretch. the back up plan was to simply pile leaves over the bike and some day in the not so distant future come to betul from Hyd hire a truck and recover bike the semadoh - hyderabad leg was fun too. had less than a full tank when we started and then all pumps en route were closed. got 5L standard (no IFTEX with me) for 400/- and just about coasted into Kamareddy in exactly 10 hours (45 mins wasted getting through AMraoti, another hour in breakfast and getting fuel around Pandarkhwada). Lots of ripping on the way back. The longest i have been at 100+ (and the hardest i ever hit a pothole) Blew a head gasket and there is lotsa oil on the RHS of the bike now. Had to fill up on more standard at Kamareddy. Got the new mirrors just before the trip and guess what they are worse than the old ones. all i could see was my jacket. service appt on Fri. plan getting the chain/ sprocket changed (20 K done now on the original) sprockets are fine but the chain is noisy and grating. the clutch is a little spongy. Guess I will get the shock and forks checked, brake fluid/ pads and all the cable replaced and injectors cleaned. Anything else ? IAC did not have to call up Arpan or Venkat :))) I do think this was a nice stress test for the 220. ciao gr > > Did you talk to GR ;)? > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
