I am writing a short note to express my thanks for your assistance. As you
are no doubt by now aware, I successfully applied for the position of
Captain of His Majesty's Escort, due in no small measure to your help. I
plan to host a small get together at Hunter's at the end of the month, which
I shall advert in due course, so that the newer members of the regiment can
meet the senior officers, and so that I can interview for possible
candidates to fill the vacancies in the Escort at Private rank. I would
hope that you and Cestome will be able to attend - my new lady, April, is
keen to see her again and chat.
