Sir

I am writing in the hope that you might see fit to consider me for a Captaincy
in your fine regiment. Whilst a newcomer to military matters I am eager to serve
my King and country in the coming war and your regiment seems that most suited
to my station in life. If you would be so good as to grant me an opportunity to
speack to you in person on this matter I should be most grateful.
