Agreed. Mark (CdC) and I were discussing the same thing a couple of months
ago, and kicking around ideas to rectify it.

I think that one of the problems is that, compared with other EG! games out
there, Banana is quite difficult to play at times. This is due to the fact
that, although players know exactly (and in great detail) what their own
characters have done, it is very difficult to find out what other characters
have done (unless they are on campaign). For example, although I know that
AdM and Louisa were at the Fleur in week one of March, that they were
toadied to by SdS and that AdM lost 18,000 crowns gambling, I only know that
PNdZ and DdC were there because AdM seconded one of them in a duel and have
no idea at all who else might have witnessed AdM's disaster at the gaming
tables. (OK, no-one of course since they won't know that AdM was there
either).
Many EG! games, on the other hand, include a general 'Paris Report'
outlining who had parties where, who applied for what regiments and
appointments, who courted whom, who duelled with whom and so on - as,
indeed, did banana in the dim and distant past.
I appreciate that compiling such a report would entail a lot more work on
the part of an already overworked GM - but perhaps (as in Quincy's Time of
Honour) the players themselves could be recruited to provide sections of
this? (Provided they were furnished with relevant information, of course).
Alternatively, I recall that the Greasy Pole for May 1673 included a lot of
extra information (after the Campaign results) which does not normally
appear. It seems that the facility to provide such information is already in
place, and including it would give players a lot more information to
roleplay with.
