Hi,

unfortunately the recruitment did not work out with Madhavan. Independently of his skills which we were still reviewing, he was not satisfied with the way we ran the recruitment process. I had a discussion with him on the subject, and I'll quote him here because I think it's interesting :

I'm pretty much interested with the technologies and the domain you are
doing. But the hiring process is too long. Moreover, this is freelancing
work. I never ever had an interview like this. After started doing work
if you are not interested with my work, you don't pay me as well you can
quit giving work to me at any chance as this is freelancing. But for
hiring process you are taking a month time to finalize which doesn't
make any sense.

I think that a way to improve this kind of feeling is to be more clear and straightforward in the recruitment process. Our process itself seems ok to me actually (technical and motivation questions, discussion on the ml to see how the candidate feels about open discussions) but we could still improve its communication. For instance, we could state what the steps will be before the first free lance mission starts, and then we could show that our objective is to see freelancers become recurring contractors with the advantages attached to this position.
What do you think ?
If that's ok with you I can add to the wiki a page that explains this process and links it to the recurring contractor status.

thx
D
