I guess what we could do until this part improves is look at
subcontracting companies rather than individuals (with the constraint
of having no more than one person of each company who would work with
us). Until now, I've only asked my contacts in India to look for
individuals, so what I could try now is ask them to advice me with
subcontracting companies that they trust, and see how it goes.
What do you think ? Any other idea ? Any subcontracting company you
know of that is worth contacting ?
A few ideas, in no particular order:
- Make the job offer look more like a "traditional" recruitment, for a
full time job. The contract would still be a freelancer one, but it can
still be modeled to give guarantees such as notice delay or guaranteed
work (as long as the iterations are performed on a timely manner). It
could state something like "Employment type: Full time contract (with
clauses specific to telecommuting)" and then explain it to the
applicants once they have started discussing with us.

To begin with, I'll check if something can be achieved with some
subcontracting companies i know of.
