Hi Xavier, As I told you, it was not only because of the mailing list, but mostly my mistake because I was having a huge amount of work in Ubisoft ;)
But for me, the main issues I faced on this mailing list were : 1// Even if I selected the digest mode (I was hoping 1 email per day), I was still having several mails a day which I didnt have the time to follow 2// To access information inside this mail, it was not very easy (no formatting, no bold characters, etc) so it is not easy to browse it fast. But on this point, except something else than a mail (like a wiki platform of whatever), you cannot do anything I suppose. And I should have allowed more time to read them all, but I didn't have ^^ My next mail will be feedback about the project I hope ;) 2010/6/21 Xavier Antoviaque <[email protected]> > Yves, Daniela, Otavio -- > > Since you had a similar remark, about the difficulty to follow the > numerous emails on the mailing-list, I'm answering in the same email, to > see if we can come up with a solution together. > > Yves Sepulchre wrote: > > To be honnest, I've been quite in a rush at work those weeks/month one > > a very particular project (which should finish... this week normally), > > and the speed of the discussion on Hackit mailing list was really to > > high for me to follow it unfortunately (even the digest mode were a > > few mails a day I couldnt follow :p). > > Daniela Carrete wrote: > > the problem for me is that i' get lost trough all the threads in the > > group... a lot of them are about meetings or administrative stuff, and > > since these weeks have been a little crazy, i can't find time to > > locate the ones that are about the game itself. sorry about that :( > > Otávio Savietto wrote: > > I'm very sorry for not giving any input lately, but like Dani said, > > there is a bit of data "overflow" in the threads, making it a bit > > confusing for me to follow. > > I understand that the whole thing is open, and all , and I really like > > the concept, but in my opinion some better "taxonomy" should be > > implemented to organize the ML. > > Agreed - it actually echoes some remarks that have been made in the > past, and it's true that it can be hard to follow at times. > > To try to find a good solution, I'd like to know - which one of those > issues is it? > > 1) it's about finding the right emails to read (ie only seeing the > emails about a given topic, like gameplay, marketing, business...) > > or > > 2) it's about the level of detail (no matter what the topic is, you > don't want to read a long list of long emails, but rather have a summary > of what's happening, and be able to jump to a given discussion when you > are interested) > > or > > 3) both 1 & 2 ;p > > And if you have ideas on how to improve things in that area, I'm really > interested - I think you are right, it's an important blocker that we > need to solve. > > Xavier. > >
