Is there anywhere other than director/storage to enable statistics collection?  
I have 'Collect Statistics = yes' in that conf file.

It is true, I don't have any long running jobs that have a previous one, yet, 
they've mostly been short incrementals.

I would have thought the completion would do an estimate beforehand, and work 
off that, so I'm surprised at how it works.

However, I am suspicious that something still isn't working right in my setup, 
because in addition to the progress bar not working, I'm also getting no data 
about any progress:

Job ID: 145 Files: 0 Bytes: 0.00 B Bytes/s: 0.00 B   <- this job has spooled 
12gig so far.
