Hello Bareos community, we are proud to announce that we have a first version of Bareos on Windows.
All three daemons run on windows! We only support postgresql on windows as catalog database right now. The postgresql server has to be installed before calling our installer. What does work: - Installer detects if needed postgresql installation is available - Installer opens firewallports for all daemons - All daemons register as service in windows - Backup to disk - Tested on Windows7 and Windows 2012 Server 64Bits, but should work on every modern windows machine What is missing: - Catalog Database Backup script - tape support - testing and different windows versions - prepare installer for silent installation of director and storage daemon - ... Quick install howto: - Install postgresql server package - Run bareos installer - Select "Full install" install type - Click next multiple times - Run the database setup batch file when installer instructs you to do so. - When done, klick Ok in installer. - Start the tray-monitor - Run bconsole as admin - Use bareos on windows as you are used on every other platform.
