Thanks, Frank. I do not need the bconsole.  I did move bareos-fd from one of my Fedora 29 machines to my Fedora 30 machine. That failed due to a miriad of  missing dependencies.

I tried to install bareos-client for FC29 on the FC30 system. It fails because bareos-client has a dependency on bareos-bconsole so adding --skip-broken causes bareos-client to be skipped, with or without  excluding bconsole. (-x bareos-bconsole)

Please tell me how to install just the filedaemon.

You are right, there is currently no package for Fedora 30, yet. As we are currently working on our build environment there will be nightly builds of Fedora 30 as well in the midterm.

However, Bareos Console is the only program that uses readline.

Meanwhile, if you do not need bconsole you could simply install the filedaemon only (if you just want to prepare a client) or try to force the complete repo for Fedora 29 to install (then without a working bconsole).

I understand how to use the repositories. The problem is there is no Fedora 30 repository and the Fedora 29 repository requires libreadline.so <http://libreadline.so>.7. Fedora 30 has libreadline.so <http://libreadline.so>.8. Hense, I need a Fedora 30 repository or a workaround.

    You may want to visit
https://docs.bareos.org/master/IntroductionAndTutorial/InstallingBareos.html#rhel-7-centos-7-fedora as you can find some hints there.

    Seehttp://download.bareos.org/bareos/release/ for available
    installations for non-subscription users.

However, there should not be any issue with readline.

I recently moved to Fedora 30, only to discover that the
fedora 30 bareos distribution is not available. I tried using
the Fedora 29 distribution, but bareos-client fails to
install with a dependency on libreadline.so
        <http://libreadline.so>.7. FC30 has libreadline.so
        <http://libreadline.so>.8. I tried creating a link from .8 to
.7. Still will not load. Tried moving the libreadline.so
        <http://libreadline.so>.7.0 file from FC29 to FC30. Still
will not load. Does anyone have a workaround to get my backup
running again? I have several FC29 systems and Centos7.5
systems all performing normally. I don't want to have to down
grade FC30 systemc to get is backup running.
