I had a similar problem and it might be worth trying my solution.  I think the 
fault lay in opensync rather than barry.  Simply deleting and recreating the 
group BlackBerry fixed the problem.

Opensync keeps it's configuration files in ~/.opensync-0.22/group1 if you 
haven't found them yet.  You can delete the group just by removing the 
directory group1.
