I haven't tried the commands myself yet, but would agree that the
correct MFI is needed except for some 7xxx and earlier models. I also
believe that all the commands are sent over the RIM Cal task
channel...except of course the request to open the RIM Cal task
channel.

It would be interesting to see if the read VSM fails on the 8900,
9530, and the 8220 even with their MFI file loaded. People apparently
get an RTAS authentication error when trying to load a VSM on those
models.

I don't have a list, but I guess this could be the start of one.
