Hi folks,

Barry releases have slowed too drastically, and to remedy that, I plan
a monthly release cycle, at the minimum. I also plan to strive to
maintain the tree in release ready state at all times. The rate of
new changes in the development cycle of 0.15 made this hard to achieve,
I lost track of documentation and each new distro release slowed me down,
But staying release-ready is critical to actually making a release.

As such, I'm sure there will be rough edges in 0.15, especially in the
package side of things. So version 0.16 will be close on the heels of
0.15, focused primarily on incorporating Nicolas's java debugger patches and
Ryan Li's GUI patches.

Here's the release plan from the TODO file:

Target: release version 0.15 (as-is on August 20)

Target: release version 0.16 (Sept 3)
        - incorporate Nicolas's java debugger patches
        - incorporate barrybackup GUI changes by Ryan Li

Target: release version 0.17 (Oct 1)
        - test and fix all build and functionality issues on:
                - Fedora 11
                - Ubuntu 8.10, 9.04
                - openSUSE 11.1
                        - see mailing list reports
                - give openBSD a test compile
        - website documentation:
                - add a more detailed set of instructions for how to
contribute to the project using git
                        (see email to Josh)
                - incorporate Bill Paul's modem HOWTO for FreeBSD
into web docs (see list emails)
                - add docs for opensync 0.4x plugin (note that it is
currently experimental, based on devel opensync)

Target: release version 0.17 (Nov 13)
        - polish up bfuse, and add feature to split out fields
        - add record classes for Content Store, SMS Messages, based on
                Martin Owens' doc/barry-research.ods

If you have small bugfix patches for 0.15, now's the time to send them.
Small fixes only, though.

Thanks,
- Chris
