This is the result of the first round of Hugo Award Recommendations.
Cheryl Morgan will incorporate these into the EMERALD CITY Hugo
Recommendations List. If you want to add your name to any of these
suggestions (or, in case I got the results wrong, take your name off a
recommendation), write to Cheryl.

We'll discuss more Hugo Award nominations for the next two Monday after
the regular meeting. We'll be looking at the "middle section" of the
ballot, so bring your recommendations for Dramatic Presentation, Editor,
Pro Artist, and Semiprozine.

To repeat: You need not be eligible to nominate for this year's Hugo
Awards to make recommendations. You can make more than five nominations
in a category. You do have to be a member of either this year's
Worldcon by January 31 or last year's Worldcon in order to cast a
nominating ballot. I'll have blank nominating ballots with me, and I
can sell you a membership in Interaction if you need one to be eligible
to nominate.

JOHN W. CAMPBELL AWARD FOR BEST NEW WRITER (Not a Hugo, but administered
by Interaction)
"Professional Eligibility" rules for the JWC are in some confusion at
the moment. The footnote on the ballot does not apply to the JWC,
although its placement appears to imply that it does.
