It's been pretty exciting here too. Not a lot of flooding (though some
of the smaller creeks have flowed onto a street or two), but strong wind
has knocked down power lines everywhere, and some impressively big trees.
I saw one tree lying horizontally across the street and wondered "what's
that attached to it?" Why, a disk of earth 40 feet in diameter with the
whole root ball still attached! It's pretty surreal.

If anyone was planning a visit to Reno, I suggest waiting a week or two.
70 mph winds have been reported on Donner Pass.

No serious problems at our house; the back fence fell, but the landlord's
insurance covers it....
