Lisa announced that Tom Jeffers, fan & filker, sadly passed away

Yochanan announced that GalaxyCon is this-coming weekend at the SJ
Convention Center & he announced that 'Covid is still around' and he is
suffering from it again

Ken announced that AOL's dial-up is finally shutting down

Robin announced that there will be a protest of YouTube this Wednesday,
August 13 - to protest YouTube intent to use AI for age determination

Reviews:

Yochanan reviewed 'Bridge to Terabithia', both the book by Katherine
Paterson & the movie adaptation.  He found the movie to be pretty & very
nicely done, while the book was 'more raw'.  He recommends both, but 'be
prepared for heart-break'.

            and Yochanan reviewed 'For All Mankind', an Apple Plus sf
series about an alternate future that spans 4 seasons.  He found the
episodes to be longish & drag a bit, while the plot meanders at times, but
he found it a thoughtful show with some amazing special fx

            and Yochanan reviewed 'The Wrath of Becky', seen on Netflix, as
a 'B'-grade horror movie with a lot of violence that he still enjoyed
