I'm sure it would have, though I've never tried it.

I use the entropy.de package on all my Macs because I need PostgreSQL
support.  One "gotcha" I've run into is that some OS X updates will replace
his binaries in /usr/bin with Apple's.  Rather than mucking with paths I
wrote a script that renames the Apple binaries and creates symlinks to the
others in /usr/local/php/bin.
