Largely because that involves writing complex queries, which takes
time and is subject to error, and because there is no undo, and very
few of the other features that make BBEdit so popular wherever good
computers are found. I guess that something more sophisticated will
come along sooner or later, in the meantime the export-import
suggested by many is the best solution, though rather a slow one in
our case.
