I haven't completely abandoned the Finder, but I avoid it as much
as possible these days and where possible I have my applications
automatically direct file management tasks to PathFinder.
Let me second this request. I refuse to employ any of the hacks to
let PathFinder 'intercept' Finder events and notifications, but its
frustrating to have a program bring up a Finder window, and then have
to click on my Applescript in the menubar of that window to transfer
the view to PF.
