I went in to preferences and turned off everything that was
going on
behind the scenes, especially "Check spelling as you type" under
"Editor Defaults". There were a few others, like "Balance while
typing", anything with "Auto" before it, and "Use Emacs key bindings"
under "Editing:Keyboard". There might have been others...
We're looking into it now; at the moment it looks like turning
off "Check Spelling As You Type" in the Editor Defaults
preferences should resolve the problem.
Sorry for the inconvenience; we'll have a permanent solution soon.
