If in both cases you're talking about the dialog that comes up
when you choose "Open..." from the File menu, unfortunately
that's a system component and there's not much we can do but
report bugs to Apple. If you're having crashes, send the crash
logs to us (there's a crash reporter built in to 8.5, which you
can use, or send us
~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/BBEdit.crash.log and we'll take a
look and see if there's anything we can glean from the log which
might indicate a bug in BBEdit or help us refine our bug report
to Apple.
