That self-righteous, worn-on-the-sleeve disdain for OS X's GUI/ grasping tightly to the past was a (small) part of why I switched from Eudora to ... well, I won't say because I've no interest in starting an email client war, especially not here! :) On a side note, I guess you are saying that a 39 year old such as myself is a "young 'un". If so, thanks! :)

Funny; people used to say that about the old toolbar icons. :-)

Perhaps you should consider a "Waste cycles drawing trendy, large 3D junk"....

(For those who don't know, around the time of the Mac OS 7/8 transition, when 3D controls were where such features as metal windows are today, the Eudora e-mail application, being an old timer's stalwart even then, stuck for a long time to its traditional but perfectly functional and very efficient flat-style interface. However, after many young 'uns issued loud complaints about the program needing to be modernized--just like what's happened to poor BBEdit in the last few years--Eudora's author added the new UI features but made them optional. The preferences option that controlled this part of the UI was called 'Waste cycles drawing trendy 3D junk" to reflect the author's disdain of the 'modern' UI style while acknowledging the need to yield to current market requirements. The new toolbar in BBEdit is clearly the result of similar yielding. That said, although I much prefer the old icons for their small size, I do love the increased use of the status area and the navigation bar.)

Bob
