Oh, no, that option form Eudora dates back to System 7.1, or maybe 7.5. has nothing to do with OS X.

OK, could have been in the 7.5-8.0 transition, but I thought it was earlier.

It was well before Eudora became-- well, never mind, that would be off-topic.

It was a good option, and I have it enabled on my high-end machine (Performa 6400) and disabled on my slower-than-dirt machine (PErforma 6200) because there was a noticeable difference in performance.
