And to be clear, "Paste Previous" is not in the Edit menu.
What a time saver. It's in my repertoire now.
From the BBEdit manual:
"Holding down the Shift key changes the Paste command to Paste
Previous Clipboard, or you can use the key equivalent Command-Shift-
V. This command, enabled whenever the last operation was a paste and
the previous clipboard is non-empty, replaces the pasted text with
the contents of the previous clipboard. The previous clipboard
becomes current and will be used for any further paste operations;
repeated applications of the command cycle backward through the
available clipboards."

That's part of the reason we did Paste Previous. If you hit Paste
Previous several times in succession, it will replace the previous
paste with the previous clipboard. (It sounds more difficult than
it is: try it)
