Thank you Michael Tsai - ~/Library/Application Support/BBEdit was
indeed where the
BBAutocomplete was hiding!
I am editing a large file and often need to jump between different
parts of it. One possible way is to split the window so as to show
two parts, but that cuts down the window space for an occasional need.
Another editor I sometimes use has a convenient system of text
markers. With a keystroke (ctrl-shift-<n>) I can set marker <n> at
the insertion point, and with another keystroke, (ctrl-<n>) I can
instantly return to that point. This is very handy, I can set several
markers and leap between them.
BBEdit ought to have something comparable but I've searched the
manual and can't find anything other than cmd-j to jump to a line
number. I do use that -- memorize the current line, scroll away, cmd-
j to get back where I was -- but I would much rather have keystrokes
to say "stake in the ground here" and "go back there."
Feature request? Or overlooked feature?
Thanks,
Dave Cortesi
