Without wanting to sound smug, I don't have that problem.
The FTP browser window works well for me - I quite often stay
connected - for hours - and I have to conciously disconnect. So I
don't think it is something inherit in BBEdit which we all suffer
from. Sorry, but I haven't found any preferences which set the FTP
browser to stay connected either.
What I'd like it to do is remember where I placed it - in the same
way that all of my pallettes do. Saving the Workspace didn't have any
impact on where my FTP browser appears when I need it.
