Hi folks,

I am on a line with Peter here -- not being able to edit inside a disk
browser (or, for that matter, a search result window) has been (and still
is) one of the biggest annoyances for me in BBEdit.

With search results, I can understand this limitation, at least to a
degree: if I was allowed to edit in the search results, then things might
shift around and thus render the search result incorrect.
[Side remark: Of course, a very cool solution would be if the search
results simply updated themselves in real time ("live searches", anyone?);
since I will only edit one file at a time, for average files this should
be no big problem from a performance point of view, should it? ]

But for the disk browser, I have a much harder time to accept this...
Sure, there are workarounds, but they are just that: workarounds, not a
solution. Tthe fact remains that the whole thing is rather inconvenient
:-/.

I tried to use disk browsers for a time, but this very limitation made me
stop using them at all.

Bye,
Max
