Yes, it does. In a nutshell, the problem seems to be that Option- clicking in the left margin has two conflicting behaviors: (1) Temporarily enable the single-click line selection behavior when the "Allow single-click line selection" preference is disabled. (2) Find the next matching line or beep if nothing is found. My proposed work-around is to enable the "Allow single-click line selection" preference so that single-click line selection in the left margin works *without* the Option key.
