I cannot reproduce this on an intel machine

I re-installed the system on the PPC however I carried lot's of old
prefs and other mods along via Migration Manager

Safari crashed on that page first time I opened it. so I was
suspicious of Webkit in general
while Firefox on Ubuntu has no problems at all, I can't get anything
conclusive about the issue except it is an old tired machine which is
good for some phases of programming due to:
1. running BBEdit, and
2. Auto slow motion ;)

Anyway moving on to different pages
and will keep watching for any clue to the root issues.
