Hey Roddie,

I don't have a specific scheme per se, but I do try to make my keyboard 
shortcuts a mnemonic as possible.  I also use KeyCue to troubleshoot when I'm 
having issues or problems remembering a shortcut I haven't used in a while.

Since I have QuicKeys, Keyboard Maestro, and FastScripts running on the machine 
in addition to built-in keyboard shortcuts it can be hard to keep track 
sometimes.
