I've been using BBEdit 9, and in switching to 10 (not yet on a
permanent basis) I've found - well, NOT found, several features
which are critical to my work flow.
For example,
- The "i" icon that pointed to page information is missing.
Though the Info button and dialog are no longer present, BBEdit
now displays the same details, i.e character, word, and line
counts, in the status bar (at the bottom right) at all times.
(We're also looking into additional ways to display document
statistics going forward.)
- The soft wrap feature was relocated to the "T" drop down menu.
Sorry, not sure what you mean here :-) since BBEdit's soft wrap
controls essentially didn't change.
The "T" menu is the Text Options popup, which you can use to
control soft wrapping for the current document in both BBEdit 9
& 10 (though in BBEdit 10 it does also let you set the wrap width).
- I can no longer run a perl script, look at the output, then
simply hit cmd-cntrl-left-bracket to get back to the code
because the output opens in a separate window that isn't in the
same work space.
Depending where you set your script to send output, you should
be able to move the output document into the same editing window.
(If you're not sure how to do this or have any further
questions, please ping tech support <[email protected]> for assistance.)
Is there a "map" to all the missing/relocated features that
were in BBEdit 9 and are missing/moved in 10?
Though there's no explicit feature-by-feature map, you can find
a list of the major changes here:

as well as a link to the comprehensive release notes.
