Good morning,

As for shuttling text back/forth from Evernote, Yojimbo, or Devonnote, that's no solution at all (see my reply re: Evernote). Modern apps organize their data.

I've been (trying to) follow this thread, but I'm not sure what you really want. You talk about other programs that do what you want with "data management", but you don't want to use those programs. BBEdit *does* save everything for you, but for some reason you don't like how? where? your data is saved. I don't understand what the *real* problem is.

What are *actually* expecting to happen? Should BBEdit have it's own internal database for storing your "data". Umm, BBSW have done that; it's called Yojimbo.

I'd make a strong wager, that if you actually list what you want to happen, in clear terms that are constructive; there would be list members who could assist you in making that happen.

I've heard you say that you don't want to use Yojimbo for its designed purpose, but I don't understand why, other than you may have to put a few minutes into getting it to work the way you want.

The one sentence answer; check out AppleScript; it makes BBEdit 1000% more powerful than what you see via the UI. Second sentence, don't be scared to use more than one app; apps can happily overlap (interleave?) windows and share data between them.

PS. For me personally, I don't want BBSW to spend *any* development time trying to move Yojimbo into BBEdit; they work exceptionally well as separate programs (& together), and there are heaps of other features more deserving of developer time.
