In that case, the easiest thing to do is to download and install the update manually: <http://www.barebones.com/support/bbedit/updates.html>.


Further to Rich's post, if you are using a BBEdit 11.6 *beta* and encounter this error, it is due to a known issue which does _not_ affect the release version.

So, please instead just manually update (as detailed above) and we apologize for the inconvenience.
