    As mentioned, you can expect the actual internal difference to be
the removal of the ethernet switch chip.

    Most people's idea of a minimal WAP includes a router "for free",
simply because they expect to use a web browser to configure it.  By
the time you've written an IP stack that can send and receive packets,
making it route them is in the noise.
