Hi, Larry,
Thank you for trying. Maybe together we can make it work, and not just for
me... ;-)
A little about my system. I have a Gentoo Linux with the gentoo-sources
2.6.17-r4
kernel installed.
It runs fine, but not with the wireless web/network access.

OK, now to the answers:
1. lspci -v gives following output:

0b:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation Dell Wireless 1390 WLAN
Mini-PCI Card (rev 01)
        Subsystem: Dell Unknown device 0007
Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 4
        Memory at dfdfc000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=16K]
Capabilities: [40] Power Management version 2
        Capabilities: [58] Message Signalled Interrupts: 64bit- Queue=0/0
Enable-
Capabilities: [d0] Express Legacy Endpoint IRQ 0
        Capabilities: [100] Advanced Error Reporting
        Capabilities: [13c] Virtual Channel

2. the relevant part of lspci -n gives following:

0b:00.0 0280: 14e4:4311 (rev 01)

Thank you.

Also, from the thread at
http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-409194-postdays-0-postorder-asc-start-0.html
I heard that I have to apply the 10-pices patchset at
http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=linux-netdev&m=114805420427939&w=2,
but I didn't yet.
Also, I am using the driver from the kernel...
