My disconnects are nowhere nearly as frequent. I can provoke them
with power management on but with it off my card is very usable.

I suspect there may be a similar problem in the reception path of
both ath9k and b43, leading to the same error in mac80211.

Not for me, but I'm also not exercising the b43 code at all, so maybe
there is something for you.. Dunno.
