hmm, quite interesting. Unfortunately my experience goes with only IBM  
and Dell servers -- and they almost always come with choices of server  
OS. So can't really comment on this.

again, who said anything about updating/upgrading? not paying much  
attention, are you? please go through the thread I sent you, and this  
time please read carefully. they suggested DOWNGRADING the firmware  
version for the controller, and also outlined how to do that.

technically, if one Linux does it so should the other one -- isn't  
that what you linux lovers always preach >:) ?. Maybe it is time for  
you to live up to the linux spirit :P -- extract the driver out of RH,  
fork it into debian, build your very own custom installer, and voila!  
you will be all good and dandy :D
