I also have made great compost with urban waste, but to be able do it on a farm scale? I have doubts from my short experience. My animals are vital.

They as a generation and their soils were not subjected to the miasma producing petrol chemical / plastic pollution or the Radiation & acid rain conditions of present day generations.
So to judge their life style choices & their longevity as a given is troubling.
I prefer the quote of the 100 year old Okinawa in the Sunday paper today as she attributes her longevity to "farming barefoot".
