Mrinal,    This might be a very silly question - but are you using ASP or ASP.NET??   
If you are using ASP.NET, suggest you use the Page ViewState or some more modern 
method of passing values.   If you are using ASP also you can use form posts. But if 
you want to use querystrings, then you can simply catch the exception by querying the 
database first with the Querystring values and then check if the value exists.    The 
only problem is if the user should NOT BE ALLOWED to change the querystring. In that 
case, you will have to use a better mechanism because querystrings are bad for such a 
scenario.   Regards
