Hi Arshad
Yes, you can very well do
it........
But it entirely depends on how you want to
achieve that. For eg. you want to develop purely windows based applications or
want to integrate with other module or to control whole database of maps
(country, states, districts) show its rainfall data as per region then you have
to go for purchase of third party Active-x control eg Map Objects--from ESRI,
MapX from MapInfo....which can be used in Windows environment as component &
use there various objects for displyaing, & other related functionalities
like zoom in, zoom out, pan, show graphs etc etc.using windows form like any
other control's please check www.esri.com & www.mapinfo.com .. you can start by
downloading there evalutaion copies
If you don;t want to purchase any third
party controls and wanted to go for free version's then you can do it by showing
it in browser's for that you have to develop Map server which will help u to do
neccessary (if performance is not criteria for you as every request will go to
server) you can check this for free server code www.mapserver.com www.inovagis.org
If you want to develop your own server then
you need specification to know how to do it , check this www.opengis.org and find Web
Map Server
specifications (WMS)
Hope this will help you
Cheers!!!!!!
