Check this out in the pubs database. SELECT a.type, a.TotalPrice, a.TotalAdvance FROM
(
SELECT
type, TotalPrice=SUM(price), TotalAdvance=SUM(advance)
FROM titles GROUP BY type
) AS a
COMPUTE SUM(a.TotalPrice), SUM(a.TotalAdvance)
